Utility Analysis & Benchmarking

Course Description
Learn how to analyze the utility bills and consumption patterns to identify areas of potential savings in the building, and benchmarking that building against national standard. All fuel sources are looked at to find patterns and trends that may be seasonal, production or occupant related. Emphasis will be placed on gathering information and reading utility statements as well as the analysis of the data. This course includes a full analysis of a sample commercial structure. Every student needs to bring a laptop computer with Microsoft Excel version 2000 or later installed.


Prerequisites
This course does not have any prerequisites, however a background in basic building science is highly recommended.
