Course Description
This class covers commercial energy auditing fundamentals of heating systems, ventilation, and motors. Included in this class is analysis of fuel types, efficiencies of heating systems, thermostat set points, identifying heating loads and determining cost effectiveness of heating system improvements. The ventilation section of the class covers costs and savings associates with ventilation system types, heat recovery, run times, and interactions with heating systems to provide accurate cost and savings analysis. The motors sections of the class addresses motor efficiency, motor loading, and cost effectiveness of motor replacement. Spreadsheet analysis is included in every section with multiple exercises. Every student needs to bring a laptop computer with Microsoft Excel version 2000 or later installed.

This course does not have any prerequisites, however a background in basic building science is highly recommended.
